Ask a yoga expert and they’ll tell you how yoga can help you give clear skin – something that I’d probably never achieve. (since I’m too darned lazy to go with it that long) But thanks to a new fad on the gram, you can get your own version of the lit-from-within look, aka Yoga Skin.
Make-up artist Sara Hill created a technique where your skin can fake it till you make it. And it’s catching up super fast. In her Instagram post, Hill demonstrated the steps to get the yoga skin.
STEPS TO CONQUERING THE YOGA SKIN
She starts off by cleansing and prepping the skin as normal. And also allowing time for the skin care to absorb fully before moving on to the next step.
The second step involves using a silicone free primer.
Sara then combines foundation, a facial oil and liquid highlighter for the base. She says that its preferable to use a liquid foundation that isn’t too full coverage. And an optional step includes using glow drops.
Instead of a brush or a sponge, Sara urges using your hands to apply this concoction. This does many things. It gets the circulation flowing, relaxes you, de-puffs, and makes the base sit better too.
(Make sure your hands are clean AF before you delve into this)
You can also build up in layers on top until you are happy with the coverage created. Remember to allow a bit of time between the layers.
Sara suggests using a little bit of concealer in areas where you require slightly more coverage. Additionally, concealer can be used for covering pigmentation/spots. She also insists on not overdoing this step.
And perhaps the most important step yet – NO BAKING PLEASE! Keep your powders to a minimum.
You can also top your look off with cream blush and cream bronzer.
Additionally, if you insists on using a setting spray, avoid one with alcohol.
DISCLAIMER
If you’re somebody with oily skin or simply don’t like a shimmery look, this may not be for you.
If you guys have read any of my previous posts, you know that I LOVE to mix the MAC Strobe Cream into my foundation for the luminosity. Yoga Skin is something on the lines of the same, except it takes the glow to a whole new level.
Yoga Skin is very different from Glass skin since it isn’t about perfection. It is about natural, healthy looking, glowy skin. Everybody can have different variations of the Yoga Skin, and that is exactly what makes it ultra special.
