So let’s talk something different today. Let’s talk mascara. And what better mascara to kickstart this milestone with, than Tarte Cosmetics’ Lights, Camera, Lashes™ mascara.
I’ll admit I’m a huge Tarte fan. Not only is their line vegan and cruelty free, but their packaging ALWAYS gets me! I can’t even begin to tell you how many times I picked up Tarte stuff because they looked cute. And how perpetually broke that made me. But it’s okay, at least I have makeup that looks HELLA aesthetic!

FIRST IMPRESSIONS: The first time I got my hands on the Lights, Camera, Lashes was when Tarte had their “Create Your Own Kit” sale (I LOVE THAT PARTICULAR SALE!) I opted for the LCL because by then, it was a bestseller on Tarte’s list and the raving was endless. (much love to the husband for hooking me up with his credit card <3)
The Lights Camera Lashes used to come in a purple hard plastic texture packaging. It now comes in a similar packaging, but is holographic. The wand is pretty even throughout and coats lashes evenly.
My issues with my lashes is that they’re barely non existent! So I’m always on the lookout for a mascara that will not only lengthen and curl my lashes, but also give them volume. And Tarte’s mascara does just that. The LCL also has a waterproof version but I don’t really like waterproof mascaras as they can be a pain to take off, and I hate the feeling of having residual makeup on my face before bed.
My only issue with this mascara is that it always clumps, and I HATE IT. If I’m too careful, it won’t, but it mostly does. Especially if you opt for a second coat. So UGH.
Beware though, this mascara runs like crazy when it comes in contact with water, so don’t wear it if you’re going to be crying. Or on a rainy day.
