“I have too many eye shadow palettes”, said no one ever.
Okay, I say that every time I open my drawers, before I proceed to buy another palette. The vicious cycle repeats.
However, when Trendmood shared OPV Beauty’s upcoming Spotlight palette, I had to pause for a bit. The palette was very reminiscent of BH Cosmetics palettes, but still too pretty to pass. (Not saying that BH Cosmetics palettes are passable – it’s the price point of the palette that stopped me in my tracks)
THE SPOTLIGHT PALETTE
Inspired by the dazzling lights of showbusiness, the diverse array of shades will ensure your looks are standout.
Featuring the essential matte shades to create depth, to subtle golden shimmers all the way to bold blue metallics, the possibilities are endless.
Created with all skin tones in mind, the formula is smooth, buttery and highly pigmented, and the shades will pop on the fairest up to the deepest of skins.
Okay, I will admit the palette is actually pretty pretty. The blue metallics in all the different hues look so good, I want to reach out and touch them. And I’m not the only one who is intrigued.
“Fucking gorgeous!!! Love all of them !!!”
“I CANNOT HANDLE JUST HOW BEAUTIFUL THIS IS”
“I’m loving the blues and purples in this palette and I’m not even someone who wears colorful eyeshadow like ever”
BUT, the palette fails to impress some people. The palette is being called an XS version of Urban Decay’s Born To Run palette. Some even pointed out that the Spotlight palette reminds them of Fenty Beauty’s Moroccan Spice palette.
I’m not sure how the shades in the pan work, but only time will tell if this palette is a stand out, or will be lost in the over saturated industry.
It will retail for £29, and can be purchased from their official site on the 22nd of February.
