Ahmedabad-based designers, who spearhead the brand that bears their names, are tied together by much more than their love for design and fabrics. Their fashion collection strongly reflects a passion for craft & heritage. Bhumika’s passion for textiles and fashion led her to study fashion design at the National Institute of Fashion Technology. Shyamal studied and researched fashion in London and Milan. Celebrated designer duo Shyamal and Bhumika presented their collection Muse of Mirrors on Day 4 of India Couture Week, 2018. The designs bore their trademark detailing and rich embroidery work. There was a rich display of fine crepes, Matka silk, georgettes in their couture collection. Actor Kiara Advani closed the show and looked stunning in a seafoam green colour lehenga. The collection is a mix of tiers of silks, fine crepes and georgettes, along with delicate tulle and organza. The ensembles feature delicate embroidery with elaborated drapes and structured sleeves.
Kiara’s lehenga featured blooming floral details which made she look elegant and classy. The designers paired the lehenga with an unabashedly feminine choli dripping in sparkles, which featured ultra-feminine, eye-catching sheer ruched sleeves. Kiara’s bridal-worthy look was accessorised with a gold and Kundan choker from RK Jewellers.
