Roses Are Red Campaign is a collaborated work by GiveHer5 and The Souled Store
International Women’s day reflects the progress which has made everyone give more respect and attention to women and concerns in the community. This year this day came with a new mindset and idea which will cheer every woman and the initiative taken is so satisfying. This International Women’s Day, The Souled Store and GiveHer5 collaborated for Roses Are Red Campaign to change the status quo of period poverty. The reason behind the campaign is 80% of women in India can’t afford sanitary napkins, causing them to miss up to 5 days of school/ work every month. Some Bollywood celebrities also took part in this campaign and now it’s your time to take an initiative to make your society a better place.
The unavailability of sanitary napkins and lack of menstrual awareness not only makes it difficult to carry their basic tasks but also forces them to use unhygienic methods during their period. This collaboration is all set to bring change in society. In order to increase awareness about the problem and raise funds in an innovative and engaging manner, they decided to launch a limited edition range of merchandise. “Our range includes t-shirts and badges which contain 12 ‘Roses Are Red’ poems centred around feminism which highlights various gender-based issues faced by women on a daily basis.”
Each order will also contain a “Quick Guide to Feminism” book filled with interesting activities, and some food for thought. 1 t-shirt sold = 1 girl’s yearly requirement of sanitary napkins!
I respect the thought and action taken, let’s be a part and make it better for every woman who deserves the change.
