Payal Khandwala Online Store: To make every woman experience a redefined sense of luxury

Designer Payal Khandwala launched her eponymous label in 2012 and with her, every collection was admired, she now owns stores in Mumbai and New Delhi and one was launched recently in Bengaluru. With being better every time she wanted to walk one more step towards success. Artist-turned-designer Payal Khandwala online store venture is a debut into the realm of e-commerce.
She came up with the online portal idea so that it’s easy for her customers to be close to her collections and ease them for their shopping. “The label has grown at a very gradual pace. Once we realised that we have a growing client base that is unable to travel to our flagship stores or the multi-designer stores that house our pieces, we made the organic move to e-comm,” said the designer. Her approach to clothing is much like her art. The prism with which she sees fashion is therefore distinctive, she treats dressmaking as simply a shift in canvas. She orchestrates colour and textures to create layered separates that are dramatic yet minimal, with subtle attention to detail. Her muse is a gentle non-conformist. A woman with a refined sense of luxury, and one that will not sacrifice her comfort for it.
As a philosophy, her clothing is about relaxed timeless style, a spirited attitude and a relentless need to express one’s own individuality. The clothes are made with love in India using handwoven silks, brocades, khadi, cotton and linens in a palette that is rich and soaked in a tradition of colour.
