Nykaa is not only India’s leading beauty retailer (more than half of the population prefers it over Sephora), but it is also a beauty brand on it’s own. I’m pretty sure when Falguni Nayar dreamt of and started Nykaa, she wouldn’t have imagined in her wildest dreams that they’d get to this point. And yet, here we are. With major global brands bringing in their collections through the retailer, and Nykaa Beauty cementing itself as an affordable Indian brand.
After some complexion stuff, and a whole lotta lip stuff, Nykaa Beauty brings it’s version of a Demi Matte Lip Cream to buyers. For the uninitiated, demi matte lipsticks don’t dry down in their entirety, and are super comfortable to wear. But how good is this new launch by Nykaa? Only time will tell.

I will be honest. I hear “demi-matte”, I think Huda Beauty almost instantly. So should I think Nykaa should’ve come up with a different name? Perhaps. But then again, numerous brands do the exact same thing. (doesn’t mean it’s okay, though. Innovation is important when it comes to a brand.)
