After Rihanna, Beyonce and Naomi Campbell, Jennifer Lopez is up for CFDA Fashion Icon Award.
This year, Jennifer Lopez will receive the crowing honour of the CFDA’s Fashion Icon award at the 2019 CFDA Fashion Awards that will take place in June. CFDA will honour Lopez for her fashionable contributions ,at the Brooklyn Museum on 3 June.
Although we all have known it for years and now, the fashion community is officially recognizing that J Lo is a Fashion Icon. From that iconic Versace dress from way back in 2000 to her recent street style looks to that Valentino cape moment, the singer has always been an inspiration.
“Jennifer Lopez’s style is bold, uninhibited, and always memorable,” Steven Kolb, president and CEO of the CFDA says. “Designers, including many of our CFDA Members, love to dress her for both stage and private moments.” ACFDA chairwoman Diane von Furstenberg added in a statement, “Jennifer Lopez uses clothes as a way to express confidence and power. Both designers and fans look forward to her fashion statements. ”
The CFDA said in a press release that they would be recognizing her “longstanding and global impact on fashion.”
Considering the plunging green Versace dress she wore to the 2000 Grammy awards literally prompted the creation of Google Image search, we’d say that Fashion Icon is a pretty apt title.

Days after the CFDA Awards, she’ll also be kicking off her It’s My Party Tour in Los Angeles, and will spend the summer celebrating her 50th birthday with fans all across North America. We aren’t even half way through the year and JLo is already killing it.
