Jaclyn Hill is a pretty staple name in the beauty community. So much so, that the YouTuber hasn’t changed her surname, even though she’s called it quits with her husband. Not my place to judge, but when your name is a brand in itself, you’re better off sticking to it.
The beauty guru, along with her glass skin and 6.2 million followers, are here to hustle, and deliver! Alongside of being a super famous YouTuber and having collaborations with different brands, Jaclyn Hill is all ready to launch her own line.
JACLYN HILL COSMETICS
Apparently, this has been long time coming. Hill has teased everybody with the aspect of her own beauty line for ages, and it seems that fans are not all that excited.
However, we’re still going to talk about what’s coming. The initial tease started off with a rather icy Hill swinging on a rather bigger diamond. (Wrecking Ball, anyone?) Subsequent teases on the brand page led to the reveal of the very first product from Jaclyn Hill Cosmetics – lipsticks.
Jaclyn had suggested that her very first item would be lipsticks, and well, here we are.
On a video posted to her YouTube, Jaclyn revealed the first collection – and it’s full of nude lipsticks, for everyone.
The component is apparently nice and heavy, hexagonal in shape with a “diamond” on top. It also carried her initials – JH. The packaging is glittery but you won’t feel the texture – which I think is pretty cool. Not everybody likes that kind of texture.
As for the formula, it is rich and creamy. It isn’t too shiny, nor is it too matte. And applies comfortably and feels cushiony on the lips.
SHADES
There are 20 shades in total. Each of them are a different kind of neutral/nude except for “Mom”. “Mom” is, as you can tell, created by Hill’s mother, to match her own lips.

It might seem like a rather ginormous range, however, people of colour and fans are not too pleased.
“This one is for the whites,” said one person on Instagram. “They look pretty, but considering how long we waited for these I am honestly so disappointed-,” said another.
Either way, it seems like we’ll have to wait to see what the reviews are like. Jaclyn Hill Cosmetics officially launches on the 30th of this month. The lipsticks will retail for $18 each. *oof*
