I still remember when Huda Kattan announced that she was going to dive head first into the mainstream beauty industry. Until then, we had only heard of (and obsessed over) her lashes. But this time, it was going to be different. The beauty mogul was going to take the beauty world by storm with her new baby – The Liquid Matte.
Of course, she was excited AF. And so were we. I’ve been asked about my opinion on the liquid mattes very often, so let me break it down for you real quick.
HUDA BEAUTY LIQUID MATTE LIPSTICK
Introducing Huda Beauty’s latest lip beautifier: the Liquid Matte, an unrivaled take on the liquid lipstick. The tried and true comfort-wear formula is infused with an exclusive complex to help maintain the lips’ hydration. The lightweight formula glides on a thin coat of color that intensifies as it sets to a matte, transfer-free finish with amazing staying power.
The Liquid Mattes come in 27 versatile and gorgeous shades. Whether you’re looking for a nude, a bold colour or something simply cray, there’s something for everyone.

MY TAKE
The first shade I ever purchased was Trophy Wife, and I loved it so much, I gifted one to my best friend. (love ya, boo thang) The other 2 colours I picked up within a few days were Muse and Heartbreaker. Another friend fell in love with Heartbreaker, so I eventually gave that away to her.
Personally, I like the liquid mattes except for one tiny thing – they can be tacky. Moreover, they’re not AS long lasting as I’d like them to be. (Like the Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipsticks – they’re my FAVOURITE formula, hands down.)
The formula itself is very watery, so you have to be a little careful during application. Other than that, it dries down to a suede-like matte finish. Keep in mind, that the colour definitely dries down a little darker than how it applies.
I will admit, it doesn’t feel like you’re wearing anything when you apply this – which is a pretty good thing.
But if you ask me, I still prefer her Demi Mattes to the Liquid Matte. If only Nykaa could be a babe and launch them in India soon.
