When I think of the word ‘hustle’, I think of Huda Kattan. The beauty icon has been giving launch after launch – leaving us penniless. 2017 and 2018 were big years for the brand, considering the start of their complexion journey. The Faux Filter Foundation is a favourite of mine. And if you’ve read the review of the Overachiever concealer, you know that I really like it too. So what about the Easy Bake Powder by Huda Beauty? How well does it work?

When Huda Kattan dropped campaign shots of the Easy Bake, she witnessed severe back lash. The public accused her of stealing the idea from Beauty Bakerie. And although I do understand baking = baking powder = kitchen and baking, what disappointed me was that Huda never acknowledged the mishap. Instead of coming out and simply apologising, she chose to ignore everything. Which, of course, angered people even more.

Enough about what happened in the past. Ignoring the debacle, how well does the Easy Bake Loose Powder really fare? Read on to find out.

The Huda Beauty Easy Bake Loose Powders are inspired by Huda’s strong belief that the technique of baking is a key step to a flawless finish while ensuring long-lasting, melt-proof makeup.

Easy Bake is easy to use due to its unique powder net which disperses a controlled amount of powder.

This extremely light and silky texture blends seamlessly into the skin leaving it matte with a hint of sheen, for a luminous finish that controls shine throughout the day.

Eight shades, packed with ultra-refined pigments, to ensure the right fit for all skin tones. The powders work to subtly color correct and highlight different contours of the face, leaving a translucent veil of color on your skin – so you can bake, without the cake!

It saddens me that this product drowned in the noise of the campaign backlash. Because everything aside, this actually is a very decent powder.

So far, I’d been using my trusty RCMA and Fit Me powders, but the Easy Bake has dethroned them!

Blurs. Neutralizes. Brightens. The Easy Bake passes all three tests.

The powder doesn’t cake at all. And doesn’t dry my skin out (WHICH. IS. BIG.)

HOWEVER, I wish it weren’t so heavily perfumed. Since scents can trigger skin reactions.

Apart from the scent issue, this powder really works y’all. And checks all the requirement boxes.

Of course, true to Huda Beauty fashion, it is crazily priced. So if you want to get it, you better save up.
