H&M Breast Cancer Awareness Collection is designed specifically to suit the needs of breast cancer survivors

Breast cancer awareness month is a yearly campaign that intends to educate people about the importance of early screening, test and more. This campaign starts on October 1st and ends on October 31st every year. The campaign also offers information and support to those affected by breast cancer. Just to get involved in this supportive campaign H&M has taken an initiative and has come up with H&M Breast Cancer Awareness Collection.

The Swedish fashion group was inspired by one of its employees, a surviving breast cancer patient, who was unable to find affordable, fashionable and functional undergarments in her time of need. H&M will donate all sales profits from its Close to My Heart collection, which is also available for purchase on its e-commerce site, and match customer donations up to 25,000 dollars. Finding a bra that fits the way it should is a struggle for most women, but for those who have had a mastectomy, finding a bra you love and feel comfortable wearing can be almost impossible. Not only do your old bras not fit, but the surgery also leaves women with scars, bumps, and with unique needs that most of us don’t comprehend. But the brand has designed this collection keeping your every need in mind.

“The differences between an ordinary bra and these is that they cover more of the breast and that it has pockets for the prostheses. The pockets are made in a mesh quality for extra support of the prostheses,” said H&M spokesperson.

Their new collection comes in three adorable styles: your everyday basic microfiber bra, a gorgeous lace number, and a sports bra with a front closure. The bras range in size from 32A to 38D and each style comes in a variety of colours, so there’s no shortage of options.
