While the BAFTAs happened in London, the Grammys 2019 took place in Lose Angeles. Must’ve been a tough decision for Gaga, considering she had nominations at both events. However, Gaga attended the Grammys, and made it worth her while.
The BAFTAs 2019 was a glamorous event. But unfortunately, the Grammys was a little underwhelming. Aside from Cardi B’s outrageous outfit, there weren’t many looks that had me downright obsessed. Either way, let’s just go through the looks that did sort of, leave their mark.
The rapper went home with Best Rap Album. However, prior to the win, she stood out on the red carpet. Not only was her ensemble dramatic, so was her performance and her makeup. I loved the full glam eyes and the flawless skin paired with a nude lip.
I love Lady Gaga. But I wasn’t in love with her choice of outfit. Her Celine number reminded me of aluminium foil, but in a good way. The ruffle was bothersome, but her makeup wasn’t. Hence, she’s on the list. Nothing beats her iconic Golden Globes look tbh. And the Critics Choice ensemble? FINE AF.
The singer also gave a powerful speech about mental health which resonated far and wide.
Jenny from the block brought her J-Lo glow to the red carpet, along with a rather wide-brimmed hat. Although I loved her Ralph & Russo piece, she could’ve skipped the hat.
Cabello was probably my favourite at the Grammys.
Sparkly pink gown with an open back? Check.
Sexy bedhead ponytail? Check.
Flushed cheeks, seductive eyes and pretty pout? Check, check, check.
Janelle did it with all those angles!
The singer-actor also paired gold lids with a glossy lip which is an A in my report card.
Even though several designers had declined to dress Bebe Rexha (a travesty for them), she still managed to wow us on the red carpet. I was in love with her choice of colour, all the tulles and her makeup.
Okay, how CUTE did Kendrick look in her mini Ralph & Russo number. Very Gatsby. She even channeled her inner Ariana Grande with the high ponytail. Add the flushed cheeks, and you have yourself a winner.
Miley was the Irina Shayk of the Grammys 2019. Donning a Mugler suit, with a similar neckline and boot cut pants, Miley was the front runner for us. The clean makeup with the cat eye – magnifique!
TRACEE ELLIS ROSS
Tracee has a talent – she can wear any colour under the sun, and she can look fabulous regardless. She opted for a green Ralph & Russo pant suit. Topping it off with a very Slytherin vibe – the snake detail, and a fresh face, Tracee was effortlessly gorgeous!
That’s about it for the Grammys, really. There were a couple other people, but eh, the vast majority was pretty underwhelming. I hope the next massive carpet event is nicer.
