Changing the face of the sari forever, merging indigenous Indian construction and embellishing techniques with his idea of the future, Gaurav has delivered and sustained a world that is Indian at its core and boundless in its form. Crystal Myth makes a big deal about the absolutely clear, crystalline miracle within each of us. A miracle where trampled dreams rise, where desire spirals and ambition races to embrace it all – the lust, the need, the cascading, the rising. There’s no shying away, only a leap towards that which shines, irrespective of the dark. “My brand has a strong signature, which is inspired by nature, trees, the abstract shapes of clouds, alternative mythology, architecture, dreamscapes, and a future-primitive vibe,” explains the designer.
His latest collection draws attention to beautiful crystals and angular embroidery. Zardozi is mixed with Japanese bugle beads on feather-light fabrics that elegantly drape the body. The designer makes use of his signature fabrics like chiffon, crepe, dupion, net and organza; many of them developed from scratch in-house. The colour palette has been handpicked to include dusk grey, mosaic blue, English green, crimson, night teal and primrose pink.
Cool separates are a must in any wardrobe. All his outfits can be styled individually and paired with different looks, making them very versatile.
