When it comes to fashion and the public façade, no one else is as scrutinised as the Royals. But leave it to the duchesses to nail the hammer on the head – every. single. time.

HRH the Duchesses of Cambridge and Sussex came together to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Commonwealth at Westminster Abbey on March 11th. And not only did they deliver decorum, but also the poshest royal fashion we’ve seen.

THE DUCHESS OF CAMBRIDGE

The Duchess of Cambridge painted the town red in a gorgeous Catherine Walker coat dress. But this wasn’t the first time the coat saw daylight. Kate Middleton wore the same coat during the royal tour of New Zealand in 2014.

The double-breasted military style number features oversized gold buttons down the front, and Kate chose to sport a matching fascinator.

With her hair in a lovely updo, the Duchess sported soft grey Emmy London Rebecca Cinder Pointed Court Shoes. Loving the contrast! She also carried a matching clutch.

THE DUCHESS OF SUSSEX

Following behind, the radiant Duchess of Sussex wore a head-to-toe ensemble by Victoria Beckham. She paired a printed crepe midi dress with a textured white coat. A pillbox hat, green satin VB pumps and a VB clutch completed the look. Meghan also wore her late mother-in-law’s diamond bracelet.

Both duchesses seemed in happy spirits and embarrassed trolls with a loving embrace and kisses. Basically squashing any and all rumours of a rift between the two.

They also exchanged cheerful conversation with Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla, alongside their dapper husbands, Princes William and Harry.

This was the second get-together for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex in just over a week. The group last came together on March 5th to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Prince Charles’ investiture.
