In today’s article, we’re going to talk about something a lot, and I mean A LOT, of people fear- eyeliner. I remember back when I was in uni, I was always in charge of eyeliner application prior to any event. In fact, I spent so much time applying other people’s liners that I was late on starting my own makeup ON MY WEDDING DAY! I still remember mum yelling at me to start getting ready lol.
And when we talk about eyeliners, we are sure to keep Kat Von D’s Tattoo Liner in the discussion. But this time, we’re going to talk about it’s heavily debated dupe- The NYX Cosmetics Epic Ink Liner, which is one of my favourite eyeliners, and something I ALWAYS recommend to people.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS
I purchased the Epic Ink Liner because on most regular liner days, I prefer using sketch marks to gel liners since they can be applied super quick and hassle free. And for some reason, I wasn’t too nuts about the KvD liner (you can stop gasping. I’m convinced I probably received a faulty item) When I heard the Epic Ink was a dupe for the Tattoo Liner, I HAD to get it. The Epic Ink Liner retails for INR 825 for 1ml of product (don’t tell your parents that. Little do they know, it’s one of the cheapest liners in the market lol)

The liner has a super fine brush tip which allows for precise application. The product flows smoothly and doesn’t skip or drag. It has a slight tendency to bleed a little, so if you have oily lids, you better prime those babies.

The formula says it’s waterproof, but I beg to differ. Because sometimes I see the liner bleed near my lower waterline, but not always. It lasts a good 6 hours or more and doesn’t fade or crack over time. Due to how thin the applicator is, you can get a super thin, super sharp liner and you can vary thickness by applying or reducing pressure on the applicator.
PROS:
- Inexpensive
- Good pigmentation
- Super fine brush tip
- Easy application
- Great for beginners
- Long lasting
- Doesn’t fade
CONS:
- Not waterproof
- Tends to bleed a little
- Brush tip can get frayed by getting caught in cap
- Ink may sometimes leak, rendering it useless
