If you read Tutorial Tuesdays with Rihanna, you know that Vogue’s YouTube channel collaborates with celebrities to get their Beauty Secrets. (You will also know that if you are on YouTube all the time)

In beauty secrets, a celebrity technically shows their techniques and the way they get their favourite or everyday makeup look. And this time, Vogue paired up with Victoria’s Secret angel, Candice Swanepoel.

Candice Swanepoel is a South African supermodel and philanthropist, best known for her work with Victoria’s Secret. In 2016, she was listed 8th on the Forbes top-earning models list. She has been among the Top 10 earning models every year since 2010.

Candice gave birth to her second child, Ariel this summer and is now prepping to make her comeback on the Victoria’s Secret runway. In the video with Vogue, Candice laughs about how she hasn’t slept in 2 years and gives us the ultimate lazy girl hack on how to get curls – by twisting her hair into double buns.

Candice starts off by applying face oil and adds that she likes to do eye masks if she has the time. She applies liquid bronzer to her face and says that her body is much darker than her face and she applies sunscreen regularly. She also talks about her crazy veins due to breastfeeding.

Candice relies on concealer to help her fake it, opting for a heavy weight concealer by Kryolan, the Dermacolour Camouflage Crème, and adds in a little oil to help smooth it out. She blends in the concealer using a beauty blender sprayed with rose water, and sets it into place using MAC’s Prep + Prime setting powder.

Using her fingers, she dabs Stila Convertible Color as a blush on the apples of her cheeks, eyelids, and nose. “I just feel like it makes you look a little more alive,” she explains. “Blush on the nose kind of gives a fake sun-kissed look because that is where you look sunburned naturally.” After blush, she goes back to her concealer to ‘really get those little bags.’

Candice then curls her lashes using the Kevin Aucoin lash curler and jokes about how men think women are torturing themselves when they use a lash curler. She uses two different brow products for her eyebrows – from Burberry and Laura Mercier to fill in the hair. She then moves on to mascara, and uses MAC’S Haute and Naughty mascara and cleans up the ‘messy bits’ by using a Q tip and comcealer (great tip!)

She moves on to contouring her eyes with a taupe eyeshadow (MAC’s Haux) and later on uses the same to add definition to her face. Candice’s favourite Lip Balm is by Palmer’s and says that she doesn’t go anywhere without it. She also uses Benefit cosmetics’ Hoola bronzer to bring back the colour in her face.

When she doesn’t have the time, Candice opts for only lip stain (Benefit’s Benetint), but she used NAR’s Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in ‘Do Me Baby’ for the video. She also adds RMS Beauty Living Luminizer on her cheekbones, eyelids, brow bone and the cupid’s bow.

She uses an angled liner brush to apply Max Factor’s kohl eye pencil to her eyes, and towards the end, uses a sponge to apply more powder to “press everything in”, and adds a final touch of blush. She then lets her hair down, and ends the video by demonstrating how she uses Dior Diorshow Pro Liner to add faux freckles, a trick she learned from a Brazilian makeup artist. She admits it “looks crazy at first,” but look completely natural after being patted down.“I always felt like freckles look really youthful, like you have been in the sun,” she explains.

Candice credits make up artists that she works with, for teaching her what works best on her skin. She will be walking this year’s Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.

A voracious addict of everything beauty, little did I know I would be treading down this path. Started off as a dentist, occasionally dribbling in the arts. Now full time Instagram browser and money spender. They say money doesn't buy happiness. I disagree. They probably didn't know where to shop.
