Stunning appeal of all celebrities at Met Gala 2017
The Met Gala, formally called the Costume Institute Gala and also known as the Met Ball, is an annual fundraising gala for the benefit of the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute in New York City. Another year, another first Monday of May had come across with Met Gala 2017. So the Gala Met is like prom for the fashion industry, which means that celebrities’ outfits are not, on the whole, about elegance or glamor, but about demonstrating one’s skills in high fashion. This year’s theme was avant-garde, inspired by fashion’s most conceptual designer. It brings together the great and the good from the realms of fashion and film for the Met Gala. Rei Kawakubo of Comme des Garçons, so some truly out-there looks were to be expected. Pharrell’s jeans are by Comme des Garçons. They are ripped; they say REI across them in what looks like biro. Claire Danes has really applied herself to the deconstruction trend. The creation is by Monse, a fairly new US brand whose MO is ripping things up and patching them back together prettily. And there was much more interesting that you could see. What stunning looks they had. That is why this is one of the best fashion days of the year. We wish that every year bring more and more good.
