Models and celebrities were channelling off-duty style with ease at Amazon Fashion Week 2018
Amazon Fashion Week 2018 was the 31st edition which started on 14th March and ended on 18th March. Almost 100 designers, including some of Indian fashions doyens as well as the promising talent of the country. Models were channelling off-duty style with ease. Bright pink jeans, classic white shirts, and many more outfits which give the perfect street look. Seriously, there is nothing that these women can’t wear without making it covetable. Gauri & Nainika’s womenswear collection was all about bold femininity which was more about experimenting modern silhouettes covering everything from aesthetic to shine outfits. Abraham & Thakore’s collection presented comfortable garments like kedia tops, cotton gamchas, salwars, hoodies and skirts. Shymal & Bhumika gave a spin to the bridal trousseau. Embellished dresses paired with boots, dhoti pants teamed with crop tops and belted ghagra-choli sets in floral patterns. Florals and plaid danced with exaggerated sleeves and knife pleats at Rina Dhaka’s showcase.
Nikasha presented a collection of fluid silhouettes like dhoti saris and tunics along with brocade cocktail jackets in floral prints and bold embroidery. Taking inspiration from the myriad colours and blushing tones of Dahlia petals, by Pallavi Mohan was vibrancy and delicacy of the bloom. Ruby red, honey mustard and teal blue were the hues that dominated Anju Modi’s collection. Ilk’s Shikha and Vinita used khadi cotton in the palette of blues, grape, teal and marigold.
The closing show by Namrata Joshipura comprised sharp silhouettes like gowns, jumpsuits and skirts in multiple layers of embroidery with a colour palette of winter colours like electric blue, deep magenta, dusty pink, grey and black. Charu Vij’s collection comprised breezy dresses in tones like charcoal, rosewood and mustard which featured thread-based embroideries on luxury fabrics like Chanderi, cotton silk slub, wool.
