NorBlack NorWhite Latest Collection: A Woman Was Harassed Here is a collaborated work with Dharavi Art Room
NorBlack NorWhite is a brand which was founded in 2010 by Amrit Kumar and Mriga Kapadiya. The duo moved to Mumbai to explore more about Indian roots. NorBlack NorWhite was born out of a desire to present practices of textile design, making them stylistically relevant for modern wardrobes. The inspiration for their amazing collection comes from Michael Jackson and all old and gold things. Every collection they come up with has names that justify every individual’s mood. NorBlack NorWhite Latest Collection is a collaborated work with Dharavi Art Room for “A Woman Was Harassed Here Campaign”. It is an initiative taken for every woman who does not speak out loud but feels harassed. Just scroll out the gallery and check a collection which is speaking up right without words.
NBNW was born out of a desire to maintain, reinterpret, and mashup these traditions to give them new life in a modernizing world. “A WOMAN WAS HARASSED HERE is a street art campaign dedicated to discourse harassment. They first started putting the posters of the same printed on pink colour sheets on roads. The message has been loud and clear. And hopefully getting louder and more uncomfortable for people to wake the fuck up about all the illusions.” stated by the designer. “This collaboration allows my work to be in spaces where the posters cannot be, addressing the same issue at its heart and dismantling it,” says Thami.
This collection sparked the fire against gender inequality and sexual violence worldwide. It is time to support the collection. They want to create and promote visual aesthetics that give new heights to the country. They wish for freedom where anyone and everyone can do whatever he/she feels to do.
