Fashion this year is serving up some well-trimmed collection: 2018 Autumn-Winter Fashion Trends

What should your winter wardrobe comprise of? Should your trench coat be covered in 3D flowers? Can you rock a denim sari? Classic white shirts? Or a perfect denim? There are a lot of options and ideas to choose from but what will be the right choice is the task. But now that the fashion week shows are underway, we can see exactly what 2018 autumn-winter fashion trends we all will be wearing this year. While trends were present, there was more of a sense of unity and empowerment, which lead to designers creating new ways of commenting on social movements. This year’s trend revealed a new attitude to fashion.

Animal Prints

Animal print is having a resurgence for this year. Yes, It’s back, and it’s more modern than ever. Victoria Beckham and Michael Kors presented statement outerwear, while Tom Ford channelled multi-coloured leopard prints in jazzy evening suit.

 Checks

Think Clueless but cooler. Catwalks were seen on the ramp with the geometrical print across every kind of item. Erdem, Calvin Klein, Versace and Lacoste were brands showcasing this pattern.

Leather Dresses

Silk and velvet are all classy but nothing can beat evergreen leather fabric. Increasingly, demand from the autumn catwalks is a leather dress. Hermès, Tod’s, Miu Miu, Givenchy were branding the collection.

Capes

You can’t blame designers for taking the empowerment brief literally: with a renewed focus on women in politics, film and fashion comes a fresh love affair with the cape.

Silver Shimmer

High-shine fabrics were key on the catwalks this season, whether vinyl, latex, plastic. Amazing metallic dresses were created in a glossy and shimmery material.

All these patterns will soon be part of your winter wardrobe. This year collection is more about an explored sense of powerful femininity, offering new ways of interpreting glamour.
